From the sad loss of family members, along with Jay Moriarity his beloved pupil who died one day before turning 23, this icon in surfing lore somehow found the strength to turn a life marred with tragedy, into one of glory. Known to the surf world simply as Frosty, Richard Hesson has been surfing since 1963, and is one of the elite group of surfers who first began riding the waves at Mavericks in the 1980s..His character played by one of Hollywood's biggest stars Gerard Butler in the movie Chasing Mavericks, FROSTY was our honored guest for our 150th show.
